What is the Grotto?

Welcome!

The Mystic Order of Veiled Prophets of the Enchanted Realm, whose subordinate bodies are the Grottoes, is an organization by and for Master Masons. While not connected with Masonry proper, its membership is restricted absolutely and exclusively to Master Masons in good standing. Although it is primarily an organization for good wholesome fun and frolic, it also has its serious side. Its slogan is GOOD FELLOWSHIP, and in contact with our fellowman, this principle is exemplified to a marked degree. The Sahara Grotto is a member of the Grottoes of North America and, being located in Indianapolis, Indiana, is also part of the Midwest Grotto Association. Freemasonry is the world's oldest and largest fraternity with lodges located throughout the world. Indiana alone has almost 400 Lodges and 50,000 Masons. Freemasonry is devoted to the spiritual, moral and civil development of its members, and strives to unite good men in strong bonds of brotherhood, friendship and fellowship.
